16 democratic #4: Diversity

America represents democracy to me, there are so many different people in America and they are all represented in the government. It is becoming more common to see variation in gender, race, or ethnicity in politicians.

Every day I see America’s diversity through skateboarding. You can find a skateboarder of every race, religion, or ethnicity. Skateboarders dress in all different styles and are usually very accepting of others. The only type of person not very well represented in skating is women. Skateboarding is seen as a very American thing and hasn’t gained much popularity in many other countries.

Democracy, Levis, and skateboarding all began in America! Like skateboarders and Americans, Levis jeans has so many different styles and unlike most brands hasn’t began to shrink their focus audience.
